My workplace had a Halloween event this year. At the last minute - literally the night before - it was decided to pull together a Mad Hatter costume. Clothing and props were assembled and, in a late brainstorm, a tea pot was added. Then, as I went to bed, it occurred to me that Scribble, with a little padding and some treats, would probably be willing to stand in for the Mad Hatter's door mouse and ride around in that tea pot all day... The next morning, her willingness to go into the tea pot was tested. She loved it.
Thoughout the day whenever the Mad Hatter would proffer the teapot and politely ask "...tea?", Scribble, seemingly on cue, would pop her head out. She was perfect! People thought that she had been specially trained.
She's just a very tolerant and patient, friendly little rat.
And we won the prize.
